E-Verify on every hire
Every Arizona employer must verify each new employee's eligibility through E-Verify and keep the record for the length of employment or at least 3 years, whichever is longer.
Who it applies to
Any business with at least one employee, part-time or family included.
Why
Required by A.R.S. § 23-214 (Legal Arizona Workers Act).
If missed
You lose the legal presumption that you did not knowingly hire an unauthorized worker; the law provides business-license sanctions.
When it is due
Done with each hire, after the person accepts the job.
